Hi Laura
This is David, Yvette's dad. Thank you so much for your kind and upbuilding words. I have passed your message onto Yvette so she knows how much you care. There seem to be so many patients who cannot find a matching donor at the moment.
We were so happy when we heard that a match had been found for Sarah and we hope that she makes a steady and full recovery. It must be a great encouragement to her to have so many loving family and friends to support her.
Please do pass on our love to Sarah. She is very much in our thoughts at this time.
Love from me and the family
David

Dear Laura
I was dancing around the room when Sarah found a match. Now I'm on my knees thanking God and I know that Sarah will get stonger and stronger and stronger....

Hi Sarah, it's Zoe at the Willow Foundation here!
I couldn't help but notice you on the TV the other night when you were at the Pride of Britain Awards - you looked absolutely stunning! I'm thrilled that a match has been found for you and wish you the best of luck with your transplant and a speedy recovery.

It was an absolute pleasure talking to you and organising your 'special day' trip on the Orient Express and I was so happy to hear afterwards that both you and Mark had such a wonderful and unforgettable time together - you truly deserved it! If you know of anyone else between the ages of 16 to 40 who is currently in active treatment for AML and would benefit from a 'special day' - please spread the 'Willow' word. We'd be delighted to help if we can.

Best wishes and lots of love

Hi Sarah and Mark too.
I have been led to this site thru mark's mom's link on the no more panic web site. I am too OLD to donate, I am so sorry, but will spread the word! I pray that you get your 'special friend 'soon Sarah. I have battled with cancer and so have many of my family. It is a private club no one asked to join! Yet it gives us all an insight, and understanding of others' pain and distress and also bravery [I don't know where it comes from but it does, don't you think?] I send you love light and healing, dear Sarah [and Mark] trust that your day Will come.
Love Mary-Rose.xxxxxxxxxx

Hi Sarah
My partner has just forwarded me your story from the BBC website and I just felt that I had to get in contact. I haven’t seen any of the televised interviews but the BBC article and your husband’s tribute on this website are a testimony to your strength. I wish you luck in your find for a suitable donor – I am mixed race (half English / half Burmese) and am registered with the Antony Nolan Trust. I don’t know if this will help but if it does let me know.
Good luck and all the best
Sarah x

Hi,
I watched your story on the BBC City Hospital program, and was moved by your positive attitude and determination to improve the donor deficiency situation, not just for yourself, but for all who need such treatment. I was diagnosed with inoperable prostate cancer two years ago and I too was moved to do something to ensure that other men were made aware of the disease, with a view to improving their mortality rate. I chose a similar method to yourself and created my own website and did what I could to publicise the awareness message. This has been more successful than I expected, and so I hope that your website is as successful, and achieves your aims and desires. Best of Luck with your project, but more importantly, best of luck in finding a suitable donor for yourself. I appreciated the poem your husband wrote and it reminded me that I too created a few poems or more properly, prose. It stemmed from a sudden and enhanced appreciation of things around me, after the diagnosis of cancer made me realise that we have but a finite time on this earth. I think you might like it and may see a similarity in attitude, that only those of us who have life changing events thrust upon us can appreciate. If you're interested, visit my site at www.prostatecancerawareness.co.uk
Best wishes for the future,
Graham Newman.

Just to say I am on a day off from university and saw Sarah and her husband on television. I have looked at the site "like2like" and have called the donors number. I was so touched and humbled by you both.. I have started my registration for bone marrow donation. Maybe I won't be able to help but I hope to do so. We all get dragged through life with the domesticity of work and bills etc and forget that the real joy of life is life itself and those we love. I have two beautiful daughters (i am 38) and cannot imagine them being ill. My father has recently been diagnosed as having a blood born illness and life seems to be so much more precious.
Good luck to you both. With warm regards
Susie Edwards

Hello,
I am living in France, and watched City Hospital, this morning and cried when I saw Sarah and Mark, what a beautiful young couple they are. I am crying again now after reading the web and Mark's words. Our eldest 'adopted' son is of mixed race, and he ran the London Marathon last Sunday for the Anthony Nolan appeal. Knowing what he went through to run, and now hearing your story, well I am totally inspired by you both, or should I say all. Please continue to fight and I will certainly pass these details on. My love to you both. We have a holiday home here, if you feel well enough maybe you would like to stay as our guests.
Judy

Hi Sarah,
it's Tobi from Waverley in year 11, u see for the blood test thing in Waverley, my sister coming Ola (ex Waverley student), I'm not sure if u remember. Shes calling alot of people to come and its quite succesful so far. I cannot come because of my age. I pray for u on a regular basis and I'm sure God will answer my prayer. Your husband's assembely really got me thinking, so I had to come home and tell my whole family, and I can see the purpose of that 'cause my sister's really getting ready inviting alot of people, every phonecall she's on she has to metion you, and ask the person to come along.
miss you

Hi.
I just wanna say that you are a fighter, don't give up hope. I just happened to pick up the News Shopper and saw your story, really touching you know. Thought I would check out the web site and get registered. You are such a beautiful creature, you deserve a chance to live. Am gonna do my best to help, also get others to join.
Best of luck.
Caren.

Dear Laura/Sarah,
I attended the London Brigade Station on Saturday but didnt stay long. I didnt see your email until this morning otherwise I would have hung around to meet you. I arrived around 11ish and managed to catch some of the firemen displays, saw a presentation about bone marrow etc and joined the register. I left just as the smell of food filled the room but had to get home before 1 (I was upset cos the food looked good). I have told some of my friends about becoming a donor and they seemed fairly interested about joining the register. I will do my upmost to persuade them to join and have told them they can join at the Afro Hair and Beauty Show.
I wish you all the best and truly hope that you find a match. Good luck with all the treatment - my thoughts are with you daily.
Best regards,
Victoria.

Hello, I found your website the other day and have been having a read tonight, (I was especially touched by Mark's poem) I hope you were able to have a good Easter.
Best Wishes
Viks

Hi Sarah,
I met and know you through Simone, (my sister). You are a very strong woman and yourself and Mark hold a special connection that is visible for all to see.
I have already donated blood and send you my warmest wishes and pray nightly that God finds that special "angel" for you. With this message I also send you hugs and kisses.
Love Antoinette and Aspy! xx

Dear Sarah,
I saw you on GMTV and found myself welling up after listening to your story. I was deeply touched by your passion, courageousness and enthusiasm and have decided to become a donor. I am mixed race (White and Trinidadian mixture) and was saddened by the statistics regarding black/mixed race donors and will be attending the London Fire Brigade Training Centre tomorrow. I sincerely wish you all the best and hope that you find a match.
Best Regards,
Victoria XX

Hi Sarah,
You might not remember me Amma, you was my form tutor and P.S.H.E teacher in year 9 (9A). I was in my room doing my coursework when my mum called me and shouted your school's on T.V so I then rushed down stairs and saw that it was you and that your Cancer had come up again. My mum then said that she would be glad to become a donor, but then we were told in assembly that the age range was from 18 - 43 so my mum was too old for it. Nevertheless, I told my sister and her friends about it and they said they would be glad to become a donor. I wish you all the best
Lots of Love Amma

Dear Sarah,
Good luck. I used to live with Mark in the early 90's. I am pleased you have found happiness together. Long may it remain......................

Hi Sarah,
You don't know me but my name is Leon and I used to share a flat with your husband! I have just found out about your relapse and will be going to Southwark next week to see if I can help in any way that I can. My Grandad died of Leukaemia in 1973, I never knew him and as a consequence have his name. If I can't help you then maybe someone else. Stay strong, you are in my thoughts.
Take care, Leon x

Dear Sarah
I have read about you and I am very touched. I hope you find a suitable donor soon and live a long and happy life with your family.
I wish you all the love and best for the future.
Radhika x

Hi Sarah,
I read about you in the metro, I would really like to help you if I can. I am of the same ethnic background as you. I'm going to go to Southwark fire station and offer to donate my bone marrow to you.
Please let me know if I have to tell them anything about my wishes on the day. I wait to hear from you.
Much Love to you and your family.
Carolyn xxx

God Bless you Sarah.
It is such a shame that I am over the age limit by three weeks! If there is any way that I can put myself forward on the register, even though I am not of mixed heritage, I would do so. However, I have already sent emails of your online information to so many people for them to pass on.
God willing you will get through this.
Love from Elaine (Cherry) and 'the 3 N's'

Hi,
Hope your doing well. I saw you on the news while I was in hosp, recovering from my BMT, It reminded me of myself, and bought tears to my eyes. I also was diagnosed with AML, and relapse another 2 time b4 having a transplant in Jan...came out of hosp thurs gone.

Being of Indian origin, they couldn't find a match and my siblings were only half matched (known as haploidentical matches). Eventually, as my Aml was so aggressive (the 3rd episode occurred within 3 wks of finishing chemo, while in remission) it was decided that I could have a double cord transplant. That's what I had, I was very ill with it, but am now well, i.e its worked for me, wish me all the best, I need it!!
I hope this email is of use to you, and I wish you all the best.
Aisha

Dear Sarah,
I was watching GMTV early this morning before leaving for work in Ilford, and I came across your story, and was very moved by it.

I have come across bone marrow conversations in the past but never really paid much attention to it due to the lack of information. I understand that both you and your husband are looking for donors of Mixed Raced Heritage. My mother is White and my father is of Black African, therefore making me mixed raced I am due to celebrate my 20th Birthday and I am very healthy.

Whether there is a chance or not that I may be able to help you, I am more than willing to put myself down on the register on the 22nd of April at 94 Southwark Bridge Road, and hope to be accompanied by as many people as possible that I know who are of similar mixed raced heritage to yours. I currently have my mind set on helping you and as a fellow human being, I feel it is my duty to do so in any possible way I can. I wish you all the best and pray with all my heart and soul that you find the perfect donor.
Take care
Femi Quadri

Dear Sarah,
I hope that a donor comes your way and to many other people who are suffering in the same way as you. You are such a strong woman and I am so privileged to be your little cousin! You have been there for me when I need someone to talk to and I'm sure that many people will agree with me that you have a great mind about you and always give the right advice!

I can see that Mark really does truly Love you and that shines through every time i see you two together. Your wedding day was beautiful and I was so happy to be apart of it. I can say now that you know that your family is always here for you through EVERYTHING. You also have amazing friends who love you dearly aswell. You are an inspiration to us all. Stay special.

Lisa Your Lil Cousin

Hi
I am a relative of Sarah's from her mums side. Although I haven't seem her for quite a few years since our Nan, Alice, died some years ago I, and the rest of our family do think about her all the time and get regular updates from Uncle Jim and Aunt Flossy. I would be willing to donate although by watching the piece on GMTV today I don't think I would be suitable, but if there is a chance by all means get in touch.
You are in our thoughts all the time and we all hope that it all works out. You are an inspiration to all of us.
Regards.
Paul (Coleman).

Dear Sarah,
just to let you know we think about you daily and although we are unable to donate we are spreading the word and doing what we can to encourage others to donate. You and Mark are not alone we are all routing for you and know that the one person you need will arrive soon.
Love & kisses,
Trevor, Kim, Hayley, Freya & Jake

Dear Sarah,
You are such a special, amazing individual! Your strength is a great inspiration to us all and I am privileged to know you!

I know that everything does happen for a reason… I don’t know the why’s, but they will be revealed. Some of the greatest people in have suffered immensely… such as Nelson Mandela… but their victory over adversity brings a message of hope, inspiration and courage to so many …and you have and will continue do the same Sarah. The fact that you’re still smiling and being so positive through all of this is a testimony in itself!

Those of us who were honoured to be at yours and Mark’s beautiful wedding know that the kind of true love that you guys share is rare and what you have is so precious. The trials you experienced only made you closer and you are a role model to all of us. Thank you for being you.

I am praying for you… I know angels are with you - the heavenly and earthly kind… coz I KNOW Mark, Laura (I LOVE this photo of you two by the way…so sweet!), mum & dad are your angels too!

Trust me, there IS a light at the end of the tunnel …you are an overcomer! I am visualising you free, healthy, whole and happy & look forward to celebrating with you. Keep smiling princess… God bless you!
Sending big hugs and kisses to you darling. Love always
Maya xoxox

From the first time I met you at my birthday party, some 4 years ago I know that you had a warm heart, and that not only would I be close to your sister, but I had made another friend. Your go-getting, contagious, beautiful, loving personality has touched us all whenever we have been in your surroundings. I look forward to having a good old boogie on the dance floor when you get better and beat this!
Girl you’ve got a big family, who love you to bits xxx
Jean Otalor

Hey there beauty.
I miss you innit? I have no-one to pirate dance moves off, and I need a hug from you like whut. Its impossible to speak freely to you, so I shall say this succinctly: I love you. I want you better. I need you, Laura and Mark back in the raving pool, not for superficial reasons, but simply because I miss you and some of my happiest times have been spent in all of your company. You make me happy and I want nothing more than that - in abundance - for you and your family.
Smooches (but no tongues. Cos you're married)
Jacqueline

Dear Sarah,
I've also been following your story since getting to know Mark's lovely Mum Fiona, or Fee as I call her. I'm so pleased you have a strong loving family around you. Reading your story and how much you and Mark love each other was a real inspiration to me. I admire your braveness and positivity in dealing with this. I hear about how you light up a room and I can quite believe this too. I'm so pleased that like2like has been set up, it's a credit to all involved. I truly hope you will find a suitable donor along with many others. Good luck with your treatment, thinking of you all.
Lisa x

To dear Sarah,
You are such a lovely caring person that I am certain only good things can happen to you from now on.
Love and hugs,
Grandma-Joan

I have just read what Mark wrote - and its beautiful - one things for sure, he sure does love her!
I know you and your family probably don't understand why this is happening, but one things for sure, she has the most amazing family ever behind her - as well as great friends - and I really do think her story, her inspiration, her energy and well her being her, really will influence people in a positive way - something really amazing will come out of all this!
Cass

I have known Mark since he was born and have had the privilege of knowing Sarah for several years. I know she has a great family including my old friend Fiona (Mark's mum). I was treated for cancer last year and I know how important it is to have people around you who love you and are there for you.
I hope to see you both very soon. You are always in my thoughts.
Sarah, you will get through this!!!

Hi Sarah,
I just want to say how quite a few of us are following your story with interest as we know your mum-in-law!!!!!!!
You and Mark make a lovely couple - you are soooo gorgeous and Mark is a right hunk!!!!

Hi Sarah,
I wish you well in finding a suitable donor, I am more than willing to donate bone marrow, I am already a blood donor and donate regularly, but unfortunately I am not mixed race which is probably no help to you but I may be able to help others.
Wishing you all the best for you future,
